What Are
Machined Contacts?
Machined contacts are precision conductive components for connectors, cable assemblies, sensors, test equipment, medical devices, aerospace systems, and industrial electronics. They include pins, sockets, crimp and solder contacts, spring interfaces, signal contacts, and power terminals. CNC machining forms the mating zone, retention features, insulator seat, and wire or terminal interface from controlled material stock.
Reliable performance depends on the combined geometry, alloy, conductivity, plating, contact force, crimp retention, mating cycles, burr control, and cleanliness. Before release, CNCPioneer aligns the electrical function with the turning route, critical dimensions, finish, inspection, and packaging plan.

Material Selection for Pins, Sockets, and Crimp Contacts
We match conductivity, strength, spring force, wear, corrosion, machinability, and plating response to the application. C14500 balances conductivity and machinability; C17200 serves resilient contacts; C11000 supports high-current paths; C36000 enables economical terminals; stainless suits guide and retention features.
Push-Pull Contacts with Mating-Zone Control
We review diameter, nose, shoulder, socket or spring interface, insulation clearance, retention, depth, and mating force as one connector stack-up. This helps prevent interference, incomplete engagement, and poor alignment.
Crimp Contacts with Wire and Tooling DFM
Wire barrel dimensions, conductor stop, insulation support, plating, material temper, and approved tooling are aligned to wire size, pull-out target, crimp height, and terminal retention. Required checks can include insertion, crimp height, pull-out, and mating fit.
Swiss CNC Turning for Miniature, High-Volume Contacts
Guide-bushing Swiss CNC supports small, long, and detailed contacts. CNC turning and MAZAK mill-turn centres handle larger power terminals, threaded contacts, flanges, busbar interfaces, and complex pins. Process choice follows size, material, tolerance, volume, and finishing needs.
Selective Gold, Nickel, Tin, and Silver Plating
Nickel provides a barrier layer; tin supports solderable terminals; silver serves high-conductivity power contacts; and gold supports signal interfaces. We define thickness, underlayer, masking, dimensional allowance, corrosion protection, and post-plate inspection for each zone.
Clean Packaging and Production Documentation
Programmes can include material and plating certificates, dimensional reports, crimp or electrical records, RoHS/REACH support, COC, PPAP, AS9102 FAIR, and lot traceability. Trays, tubes, reels, clean packs, compartments, and bar-coded labels are available.

Machined Contacts FAQ
Answers for connector buyers and engineers on drawings, push-pull and crimp contacts, materials, plating, prototypes, and production lead times.
Send a 2D drawing or STEP file with contact function, material, pin or socket dimensions, mating details, wire and tooling data, contact force, plating, retention, cleanliness, quantity, and packaging. Without a drawing, connector samples or photos plus mating, electrical, and volume details can support a quote.
These are turned pins, sockets, spring interfaces, power or signal contacts, and retention parts for push-pull plugs and receptacles. Their design must match the insulator, mating contact, contact force, insertion depth, retention method, and connector stack-up. Copper, brass, beryllium copper, phosphor bronze, stainless, and plated configurations are available.
Crimp contacts are matched to conductor size, insulation diameter, wire entry, barrel ID and length, approved tooling, crimp height, pull-out target, terminal retention, finish, and mating contact. DFM can include specified pull-out, crimp-height, conductor-insertion, and mating checks.
Simple turned contacts typically take 5–8 business days after drawing confirmation and material availability. Push-pull, crimp, selectively plated, spring, high-current, clean-packaged, or documentation-heavy parts commonly take 8–15 days. Volume lead time depends on material, cycle time, finishing, inspection, packaging, and quantity. Most inquiries receive a 24-hour quote and 48-hour DFM.
