Aluminum Threaded
Bushings
CNCPioneer manufactures custom aluminum threaded bushings, inserts, sleeves, flanged bushings, knurled bushings and male-female adapters in 6061, 6082, 7075 and 2024 alloys, with anodize-aware thread DFM and 100% post-treatment gauge inspection.
What Are Aluminum
Threaded Bushings?
Aluminum threaded bushings are lightweight machined inserts, sleeves or adapters that add a controlled internal or external thread to an assembly without the weight of brass or steel.
The key risk is thread fit after finishing. Anodize, masking, thread engagement, wall thickness, flange seating and OD fit all need to be planned before machining so the finished bushing installs cleanly.
-
100% post-anodize thread gauge Internal and external threads are checked after anodize or chemical treatment so coating growth does not create assembly-line failures.
-
Alloy, thread and coating DFM We review 6061, 6082, 7075 or 2024, thread class, screw torque, host-hole fit, anodize thickness and masking before production.
-
Swiss CNC and MAZAK mill-turn control Small bushings run on Swiss CNC lathes; complex flanged, cross-drilled or male-female bushings run on mill-turn centers from controlled datums.
-
24-hour quote response Send drawings, STEP files, screw size, host-hole data, finish requirements and annual volume for fast pricing and manufacturability feedback.
Why CNCPioneer for
Aluminum Threaded Bushings?
The best bushing supplier does more than cut threads. CNCPioneer plans alloy, wall thickness, anodize growth, thread gauge, retention features, packaging and documentation before tooling starts.
Anodize-Aware Thread DFM
Type II and Type III anodize can close thread pitch diameter. CNCPioneer confirms whether threads should be pre-compensated, masked, chased after coating or left bare.
Alloy Selection for Strength and Cost
6061 is the standard choice, 6082 suits many European programs, 7075 supports compact high-load threads, and 2024 is used when fatigue performance matters.
100% Internal and External Thread Gauge
Plug gauges, ring gauges and lead-thread inspection help prevent failures caused by coating buildup, burrs, incomplete chamfers or damaged starts.
Flanged, Knurled and Press-Fit DFM
We review flange seat, knurl depth, press-fit allowance, host-hole tolerance, anti-rotation features and pull-out requirements before machining.
China Factory Volume Capacity
Prototype, pilot and high-volume bushing programs can run in one factory, from 20-piece samples to recurring production orders with lot control.
OEM Documentation and Packaging
Options include alloy verification, dimensional reports, anodize certificates, thread gauge records, PPAP, AS9102 FAIR, laser marking and line-side packaging.

Materials
Materials for Aluminum
Threaded Bushings
Material selection is matched to thread load, weight target, anodize behavior, corrosion exposure, machining cost and assembly torque.
6061-T6 Aluminum
The default alloy for most threaded bushings, balancing machinability, strength, corrosion resistance, anodize response and cost.
6082-T6 Aluminum
A common choice for European structural, machinery and automation programs that specify 6082 for frame or fixture components.
7075-T6 Aluminum
Selected when compact bushings need higher strength, smaller wall sections or better thread load capacity than 6061 can provide.
2024-T351 Aluminum
Used for fatigue-sensitive fixtures and aerospace support parts when strength matters and corrosion protection is planned.
5052 / 5083 Aluminum
Useful for corrosion-resistant sheet-related or light-duty insert applications when thread load and assembly torque are modest.
Anodized Aluminum Threaded Bushings
Clear, black, color and hard anodized finishes are planned with alloy choice, masking, color target and post-anodize gauge inspection.
Surface Treatments for
Aluminum Threaded Bushings
Surface treatment should protect thread fit, OD fit, flange seating, color, corrosion resistance, wear behavior and assembly torque. CNCPioneer reviews finish impact before machining.
Type II Clear, Black and Color Anodize
Common finish for electronics, robotics, EV, optical and consumer parts. Thread growth, color, sealing and post-anodize gauge checks are planned before production.
Type III Hard Anodize
Wear-resistant finish for screw threads, shoulders, flange faces and OD contact surfaces. Masking or pitch-diameter compensation is reviewed first.
Thread Masking and Post-Coating Chasing
Critical threads can be masked, pre-compensated or carefully chased after treatment depending on thread size, tolerance class, coating and assembly risk.
Chromate Conversion / Chemical Film
Chemical film is useful when corrosion protection is needed with lower buildup than anodize, or when electrical conductivity must be preserved.
Precision Deburring and Thread Lead-In Control
Controlled deburring and chamfering help screws start cleanly and reduce cross-threading risk, especially on miniature and fine-pitch bushings.
Laser Marking, Cleaning and Packaging
Options include part-number marking, lot codes, ultrasonic cleaning, VCI bags, tray packaging and labels matched to OEM receiving systems.
Anodize thickness, hard anodize growth, thread masking, gauge scope, color control, chemical film, deburring, laser marking, cleaning and packaging can be reviewed during DFM.

Aluminum Threaded Bushings FAQ
Short answers to common questions about alloy choice, anodize growth, quoting information and lead time.
A drawing or STEP file is best. Useful details include material, thread size and class, OD, ID, length, flange dimensions, tolerance, finish, color, masking, quantity, host-hole size and assembly torque.
6061-T6 is the best default for most parts. 7075-T6 is better for compact high-load threads, 6082-T6 for many European structural drawings and 2024-T351 for fatigue-sensitive support parts.
Anodize grows on thread flanks and can reduce effective pitch diameter. Threads may need compensation, masking or controlled chasing, followed by post-treatment gauge inspection.
Simple prototypes often take 3-5 business days after drawing confirmation. Anodized prototypes usually take 5-8 business days, while hard-anodized or complex male-female bushings may take longer.
